New Brunswick Premier Soccer League (NBPSL)
Soccer New Brunswick
The idea for the men’s A league began in 2009 when some senior B teams tried to get a summer long Champions League going. We did not have the tournament but the idea for a new Senior A league was discussed and arrangements were made for an exhibition league for 2010. Teams from Charlotte County, Saint John, Fredericton and Dieppe were in the Southern division with Grand Falls, Edmundston, Restigouche and Chaleur making up the Northern division. The exhibition league was a success and several teams decided to move forward with an official league in 2011. The exhibition season in 2010 was a very valuable experience for all teams and it provided the necessary first step for the foundation of a viable senior A men’s league in New Brunswick. There is a very strong senior soccer culture in the province and with the addition of a senior A league we will be able to further develop players beyond High School, U18 and University.
